Limonaia

What to expect

Limonaia was the citrus orangery of the hamlet: lemons and oranges were stored here through the Umbrian winter. The large south-facing windows — the ones that protected the trees from frost — flood the house with light from dawn to dusk.

It is completely independent, separated from the other dwellings, set in the garden thirty metres from the pool. When you close the door, you really are alone.

Layout

35 m² on the ground floor: one double bedroom, living room with wood-burning stove and sofa bed (2+2 capacity), brick kitchen with cobalt-blue tiles, bathroom with shower. Walls sponge-painted in lemon yellow — the original colour found beneath the plaster.

Outside, a wooden pergola covered in wisteria with a table for four.

Best for

Couples on a romantic escape. Small families with one child. Those who want to sleep with the windows open and hear only the crickets.

Rates and details

From €120/night in low/mid season (minimum 2 nights). High season: from €890/week with 7-night minimum. Extra heating €1/h. Cot and high-chair €30.
